Just spent half an hour changing the sheets..
Weird Hanjing Fact: I own 3 pillows, 3 blankets and have about 16 soft toys residing on my bed.
All that's left is a space for me.
Heh.
Lunar new year eve,
my parents invited a foreign worker from china over for reunion dinner.
They bring stories with them, from their homes, thousands of miles away.
It gets heartbreaking at times, as you listen to their tales of their children left at home.
This man, Mr Lang, has been away from home for countless years already.
He has a son who's schooling back in China; his dear family who he misses badly.
He earns enough, to return back to china maybe once in a few years. But his work schedule never once allows him to celebrate New Year back in his home town.
Poor soul.
My parents invited him over for a humble steamboat dinner.
Just a simple meal to accompany him in place of his far away family.
A friendly heart-warming chat to ease homesickness that's hidden in him.
May he earn enough to return back home someday.

Singaporean teenagers often discriminate against these foreign workers.
I'm not saying i have never participated in those laughable harmless jokes before, but i do feel bad right now.
They are human beings too, every one of them.
Forced to leave their homes and do hard labour under the sun.
And the work they do, are those that we detest and fear of.
What does that make us?
Superior beings to them or inferior, lowly humans who fear hardship?
Food for thought, think about it.
Stop discriminating.
